Institute, WV 25112 Is seeking applicants, for the position of: Trades Specialist I
Physical Facilities
Under immediate to moderate supervision, performs a variety of tasks related to the maintenance, repair, and construction of organizational buildings, grounds, and equipment. Maintains the campus in a safe and effective manner.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Performs routine maintenance on buildings, grounds, and equipment per established maintenance schedules. Performs a variety of skilled and semi-skilled trade tasks within an area of expertise on buildings, operational systems, and/or equipment such as: Installing walls, suspended ceilings, doors, drywall, floor tile or any other similar task requiring basic carpentry skills; Performs general painting duties such as paint walls, ceilings, trim and furniture, patch and prepare surfaces for painting to include finishing drywall or other similar task requiring basic painting skills; Install new and make repairs to existing piping and machines, unclog toilets and drains, or any similar task requiring basic plumbing skills; install conduit, pull electric wires through conduits, fix switches, circuit breakers or any similar task requiring basic electric skills Moves, arranges, constructs, and dismantles, etc., furniture, equipment, and/or work areas to facilitate project performance. Conducts building and equipment inspections to determine needed repairs and maintenance. Maintains and cleans equipment and tools. Assists other Trades personnel as needed or assigned. Ensures work areas, shops, vehicles, and storage areas are cleaned and neatly maintained.
Requirements:
Must have a valid West Virginia Driver’s License. Must have a background in drywall, painting as well as in electrical, plumbing and carpentry areas. Should have over one year and up to two years of experience in one of these fields. Must have the ability to operate hand and power tools to effectively accomplish tasks safely. Must be able to operate equipment as assigned safely. Must be able to climb ladders, bend, stoop, walk, crawl, etc., and able to lift 50 pounds. Must be able to work in inclement weather. Individual is subject to call outs at all hours as required.

Salary: Pay Grade 13 - $23,837.00-year Classified/Non-Exempt
