Maintenance Technician

A residential property located in NW DC, which services 175 apartments, is seeking an energetic individual for the open position of Maintenance Technician. Special skills in carpentry, plaster/drywall repair and painting is a must. This individual will be required to perform miscellaneous service tickets for building maintenance and answer to the chief engineer on duty. Experience in electrical, plumbing or other miscellaneous tasks is a plus. Interested candidates will be required to perform preventive maintenance repairs as directed. If prior experience in window panes and window screens a plus. This individual will be required to organize and inventory all parts and equipment, and perform outside custodial duties such as snow removal as required.

Requirements include:

High School diploma or GED certificate, ability to utilize tools and equipment as needed and directed, minimum 5 years responsible experience in building and mechanical equipment maintenance and repair;or an acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience, good skill in the use of hand and power tools, ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos, ability to write simple correspondence and ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations, ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
