Community Health Nurse II

Full-time County contractual with benefits

LOCATION: 791 Aquahart Rd, Glen Burnie, MD 21061

NATURE OF WORK: This Community Health Nurse II position, under the supervision of the Healthy Start Program Supervisor, will provide education and case management through home visits, face to face contacts or telephone calls to high risk pregnant women and children up to the age of two years. The Community Health Nurse will also provide outreach to private individuals, health care providers, community groups and organizations to educate them about services available and to obtain referrals.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: A bachelor's degree in nursing from an accredited college or university.

Experience: Maternal/child health and home visiting experience preferred.

Notes: 1. A bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university and one year of experience as a registered nurse may be substituted for the required education. 2. Two years of experience as a registered nurse may be substituted for the required education.

License: Candidates for this position must possess a current license as a Registered Nurse from the Maryland State Board of Nursing.

SALARY: $29.99 per hour with benefits BENEFITS: Participation in the County's group health plan (including dental and optical), paid holidays, annual and sick leave, and mileage reimbursement.
