This individual will be responsible for providing the initial assessment on all new admissions, utilizing required assessment form. This individual will also be responsible for arranging the necessary visits with Health Care Providers to complete initial physical exam and other health screenings as required by regulation. The nurse will provide administration of medications and record this activity in the appropriate medical chart. This nurse will arrange and coordinate all medical, dental and vision exam appointments. Duties also include ensuring that there are adequate medical supplies, as well as securing necessary medical records on all clients.
Work is performed with considerable independence in accordance with established regulations, policies and procedures of the agency. Work is also performed in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act and under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse (where applicable), in a coordinated effort with the Program Director, Nurse Manager and/or Director of Health Services. This individual is responsible to the Program Director for overall effectiveness and achievement of program objectives.
- Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing.
- Current license in good standing in Commonwealth of PA.
- Minimum of two (2) years' nursing experience with at least two (2) years experience in addictions mental health, or community health care setting.
- Sobriety: If recovering, two (2) years' sobriety.
