Physical Education Teacher and Coach

National Cathedral School (NCS: www.ncs.cathedral.org) seeks (2) full-time physical education teachers and coaches for grades 4 to 12 beginning August 15, 2017. The successful candidates can expect to teach the required Lower School physical education classes (grades 4-6) as well as coach three seasons Middle School and Upper School sports. Preferred experience in basketball, field hockey and/or lacrosse.
Teachers in the physical education department at NCS are committed to a student-centered pedagogy, skill development, and guiding students through experiences outside of the classroom. The successful candidate must be able to work creatively on a school-wide curricular review process and collaboratively in a department that includes all three divisions. Salary is competitive, based on experience, and the position includes a full benefits package, including professional development opportunities. Qualified candidates hold a Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree preferred, and have pertinent teaching/coaching experience.
